NRS, African Union to Hold Three-Day Meeting on Taxation, Illicit Financial Flows

By Erewunmi Peace

The Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS), in collaboration with the African Union (AU), is set to convene a three-day continental meeting on taxation and illicit financial flows.

The meeting, scheduled to take place from March 31 to April 2, 2026, will bring together policymakers, tax administrators, development partners, and financial experts from across Africa.

The session marks the fifth meeting of the sub-committee on tax and illicit financial flows under the specialised technical committee on finance, monetary affairs, economic planning and integration.

Discussions at the event will focus on strengthening tax systems across African countries, tackling illicit financial flows, and improving domestic revenue mobilisation.

The meeting is also expected to foster collaboration among African nations and align strategies on global tax policy issues.
