“If God Hadn’t Brought Him, We Don’t Know Where Nigeria Would Be” — Igbo Leaders Praise Tinubu

By Erewunmi Peace

Leaders of the Igbo community in Lagos State have praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing his leadership as divinely inspired and crucial to Nigeria’s stability.

Speaking during a gathering of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State Chapter on Monday, Deacon Charles Obih, National President of the Market Leaders Association of Nigeria (TMLAN), expressed admiration for President Tinubu’s efforts in governance and national unity.

“To be frank, if God had not brought a man like him, we do not know where this country would be today,” Obih said while addressing members of the Igbo community in Lagos.

He added that Tinubu’s administration has shown resilience and determination in handling Nigeria’s economic and security challenges.

The President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos, Chief Sunday Udeh, also reaffirmed the group’s support for Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid. He urged Ndigbo residents in Lagos to maintain peaceful coexistence and strengthen ties with other ethnic groups.

The event, which drew prominent Igbo business and community leaders, focused on promoting unity, economic collaboration, and political participation among Igbos residing in Lagos State.

The remarks have since generated mixed reactions online, with some Nigerians commending the show of support while others urged caution against politicizing ethnic-based endorsements.
