Businessman and social commentator Isaac Fayose has called on his elder brother, former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, to decline his appointment as Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In a public statement, Isaac Fayose argued that accepting the appointment could undermine the former governor’s long-standing political identity and public image. He maintained that Ayo Fayose had built a reputation as an outspoken politician and should remain consistent with the principles he has previously projected.

The appeal comes days after President Tinubu approved the appointment of Ayo Fayose alongside several others into the boards of federal agencies and commissions. The appointments have generated mixed reactions, with supporters welcoming the move while critics questioned its political implications.

Isaac Fayose stressed that his position was based on personal conviction and not family disagreement, urging his brother to carefully consider the long-term political consequences of accepting the role. He said the decision ultimately rests with the former governor.

As of the time of this report, Ayo Fayose has not publicly responded to his brother’s appeal or indicated whether he intends to accept or decline the appointment as Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency.
