The Federal Government has approved a 100 percent Duty Tour Allowance (DTA) for civil servants as part of a broader effort to improve workers’ welfare and enhance service delivery.
The announcement was made by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Walson-Jack, who stated that the new policy is designed to provide better support for government employees.
Under the new arrangement, civil servants attending approved training programmes will receive full Duty Tour Allowance, even when such programmes are held within their official duty locations.
In addition to the DTA approval, the government has also reviewed several allowances, including estacode, book allowance, and other benefits across different grade levels.
Officials said the reforms are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the civil service, boost morale, and ensure improved efficiency in public service delivery.
Other measures introduced include welfare-focused initiatives such as an employee compensation scheme, an exit benefit package, and support for housing through loan programmes.
The government noted that the changes reflect its commitment to addressing long-standing concerns about workers’ welfare and creating a more productive public sector.
