The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted a consignment of Captagon, a powerful stimulant often referred to as a “terror drug,” in Kwara State.

According to the agency, the seizure was made during a routine patrol along Bode Saadu Road, where operatives discovered approximately 10,000 pills of the illicit substance in the possession of a suspect.

In a statement released by the NDLEA, the agency’s spokesperson confirmed that the suspect was apprehended and is currently in custody while investigations continue.

Captagon, known for its stimulating effects, has gained notoriety due to its association with criminal networks and its reported use in conflict zones. Authorities have expressed concern over its presence in Nigeria, warning of its potential impact on public safety.

The NDLEA reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying efforts against drug trafficking and abuse across the country. The agency also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and provide useful information to support the fight against illicit drugs.
