Tinubu Appoints Retired Major General Adeyinka Fadewa as Special Adviser on Homeland Security

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of retired Major General Adeyinka A. Fadewa as Special Adviser on Homeland Security.

The appointment was announced through the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, in a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary, General Services Office, Ibrahim Abubakar Kana.

According to the statement, the appointment is aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s internal security coordination and improving intelligence-led operations across the country.

It added that the new role is expected to enhance collaboration among security agencies in addressing emerging security challenges and threats nationwide.

The Presidency noted that the creation of the position reflects the administration’s commitment to reinforcing the country’s security architecture and ensuring a more coordinated response to internal security issues.

Major General Fadewa (retd.) is expected to work closely with relevant security agencies and stakeholders in developing strategies to support national security objectives.

Further details on the scope of his responsibilities are expected to be communicated in due course.
