Aregbesola Criticises Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, Calls for Resignation
By Erewunmi Peace
Former Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, has criticised the “Renewed Hope” agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing it as a “scam” and calling for the president’s resignation.
Aregbesola made the remarks during a speech at the national convention of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) held in Abuja.
According to him, the current administration’s policies have failed to deliver meaningful improvements to the lives of Nigerians, raising concerns about economic hardship and governance.
The former Osun State governor, who is now aligned with the ADC, stated that leadership must be accountable and responsive to the needs of the people.
In response, the Presidency has dismissed Aregbesola’s comments, describing them as politically motivated and lacking merit. Government officials maintain that the Renewed Hope agenda is aimed at stabilizing the economy and improving national development.
The development highlights growing political tensions and differing perspectives on the performance of the current administration, as debates continue over Nigeria’s economic direction and governance.
