Court Adjourns ADC Leadership Dispute Case, Awaits Reassignment Decision

By Erewunmi Peace

A Federal High Court in Abuja has taken a fresh procedural step in the ongoing leadership dispute within the African Democratic Congress (ADC), adjourning the case pending further administrative direction.

The matter, which concerns competing claims over the party’s leadership structure, came up for hearing on Thursday, where legal representatives made submissions on the proper handling of the case.

Following arguments from counsel, the court adjourned proceedings to allow for possible reassignment of the case to another judge.

The development does not amount to a final judgment on the leadership tussle, as the substantive issues remain unresolved.

The ADC leadership dispute has been before the courts for some time, with different factions laying claim to control of the party’s structure and administration.

Observers note that the case continues to highlight internal disagreements within the party, which have played out both politically and legally.

No final decision has been reached on which faction holds legitimate control of the party, and further court proceedings are expected in due course.

As the legal process continues, all parties involved are expected to await further directions from the court.
