Amaechi rejects ADC presidential primary results, says party not different from APC, INEC

Former Minister of Transportation and presidential aspirant of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rotimi Amaechi, has rejected the outcome of the party’s presidential primary election.
Amaechi alleged that the primary process was marred by irregularities and failed to reflect fairness and transparency expected in a democratic exercise.
The former Rivers State governor reportedly criticized the conduct of the election and expressed disappointment over the handling of the process by party officials.
According to reports, Amaechi claimed that some delegates and supporters were allegedly disenfranchised during the exercise, raising concerns over the credibility of the outcome.
He further stated that the situation was similar to issues Nigerians often complain about in major political parties and electoral processes in the country.
The development comes amid growing political activities and alignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Despite the controversy, party officials and supporters of other aspirants have defended the conduct of the primary, insisting that the process followed laid-down guidelines.
Political observers believe the dispute may trigger further internal discussions within the ADC as preparations for the 2027 election continue across the country.
