A Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, in the sum of ₦100 million.

The court also directed the former governor to provide a surety in like sum as part of the bail conditions.

According to the ruling, the surety is expected to meet specific requirements, including residency within designated areas of Abuja and submission of relevant property documentation.

The bail ruling came during ongoing legal proceedings involving allegations linked to security-related matters currently under investigation.

The court’s decision allows El-Rufai temporary release pending the continuation of the trial and further hearing of the case.

Legal observers note that the granting of bail does not amount to acquittal, as the matter remains before the court for determination.

The development has generated reactions within political and legal circles, given El-Rufai’s prominent role in national politics and governance.
