Bello Bodejo, an aspirant for the Taraba Central Senatorial District seat under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has been transferred to the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) following his arrest in Taraba State.
Bodejo, who also serves as President of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, was reportedly arrested shortly after arriving in Jalingo through the Danbaba Suntai Airport.
Sources close to the development confirmed that he was later moved to Abuja and handed over to the EFCC for further investigation.
As of the time of filing this report, authorities have not publicly disclosed the specific allegations connected to the arrest.
The development has attracted public attention due to Bodejo’s political ambitions ahead of the 2027 elections and his prominent role within the Miyetti Allah socio-cultural group.
No court has convicted Bodejo of any offence, and investigations are expected to continue as security and anti-corruption agencies review the matter.
The arrest comes amid heightened political activities and screening processes involving aspirants across different political parties nationwide.
Further official statements are expected from the EFCC and relevant authorities regarding the circumstances surrounding the case.
