Soldiers Arrest 15 Suspected Oil Thieves Near Dangote Refinery Discharge Point

Troops of the Nigerian Army have arrested 15 suspected oil thieves near a discharge point linked to the Dangote Refinery in Lagos State.
The suspects were apprehended during an intelligence-led operation in the Ibeju-Lekki axis, where they were allegedly attempting to illegally siphon petroleum products.
Security sources revealed that the suspects were intercepted before carrying out the operation, preventing potential damage to critical infrastructure supplying the refinery.
Items recovered during the raid include vehicles, a tanker truck, pumping machines, and hose pipes believed to have been used for the illegal activity.
The Nigerian Army confirmed that the suspects are currently in custody and will be handed over to the appropriate authorities for further investigation and prosecution.
The operation underscores ongoing efforts by security agencies to combat oil theft and protect key national assets within the country’s petroleum sector.
