NDLEA Uncovers Ammunition Hidden in Bags of Garri During Operation

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has uncovered military-grade ammunition concealed inside bags of garri during an anti-drug operation.
According to the agency, the discovery was made during routine interceptions carried out by its operatives as part of ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and related crimes across the country.
NDLEA officials said the ammunition was carefully hidden in sacks of cassava flakes in an attempt to evade detection during transportation.
In a related operation, the agency also reported the interception of controlled substances concealed in unusual items, including a container of palm oil.
The NDLEA spokesperson explained that while the agency’s primary mandate is drug control, operatives sometimes uncover other criminal activities during enforcement operations.
The agency added that investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend those behind the illegal concealment and trafficking of weapons.
NDLEA reiterated its commitment to intensifying surveillance and enforcement efforts to curb drug trafficking and related security threats nationwide.
