JUST IN: 68 Passengers Escape Unhurt as Enugu Air Aircraft Crash-Lands in Benin

An Enugu Air aircraft carrying 68 passengers narrowly avoided disaster after it veered off the runway while landing at Benin Airport in Edo State. All passengers and crew members were safely evacuated, with no injuries or fatalities recorded.

According to airport sources, the aircraft overshot the runway after touchdown and came to a stop in a nearby grassy area. Officials of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) immediately activated emergency response procedures and evacuated everyone on board.

The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) has commenced an investigation into the runway excursion to determine the cause of the incident. Preliminary reports indicate that the aircraft involved was an Embraer E170 operating as Flight 4264.

Enugu Air confirmed the incident in a statement, assuring the public that all passengers and crew members disembarked safely and that there were no casualties. The airline added that it is cooperating fully with aviation authorities as investigations continue.

The incident briefly disrupted activities at the airport but was swiftly brought under control by emergency responders. Aviation authorities have assured the public that updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
