By Erewunmi Peace

Security agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigeria Immigration Service, and the Nigerian Correctional Service, have heightened security measures in Ondo State following a foiled attack plot.

The development comes after the arrest of six suspects in Akure over an alleged plan to target government facilities using improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

According to security sources, the suspects were apprehended based on credible intelligence, leading to the recovery of materials believed to be intended for the construction of explosive devices.

Authorities confirmed that the operation successfully prevented any attack, as no explosion occurred and no casualties were recorded.

In response, security agencies have intensified surveillance and strengthened coordination to prevent any potential threats and ensure public safety.

While investigations are ongoing to determine the full scope and possible affiliations of the suspects, officials have urged residents to remain calm and report any suspicious activities to relevant authorities.

The increased security presence is part of proactive efforts to safeguard lives and critical infrastructure across the state.
