Atiku Defeats Amaechi, Hayatu-Deen In ADC Presidential Primary Voting In Gombe

By Peace Erewunmi

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has reportedly emerged victorious in the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential primary voting conducted in Gombe State ahead of the 2027 general election.

Atiku was said to have defeated other presidential aspirants, including former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, and businessman Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, during the exercise.

The primary election forms part of ongoing political activities within the ADC as the party prepares for the next presidential contest.

Reports indicated that delegates and party stakeholders participated in the voting process amid growing political realignments ahead of the 2027 elections.

The development has attracted reactions within political circles, especially as opposition parties continue consultations and coalition talks across the country.

Although some reports described the outcome as Atiku “sacking” his rivals, political observers noted that the expression simply refers to his victory in the primary contest.

Supporters of the former Vice President have described the result as a sign of his continued influence within opposition politics, while critics insist that the political landscape may still witness major changes before 2027.

As of the time of filing this report, reactions from supporters of other aspirants and party officials were still emerging.
