Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has approved the appointment of Mrs Victoria Adunola Samson, founder of BOVAS Oil and Gas Limited, as the new Chancellor of Osun State University (UNIOSUN).

She succeeds renowned businesswoman, Mrs Folorunso Alakija, whose tenure as Chancellor of the institution has come to an end after years of service.

The appointment was announced by the Osun State Government, which described the selection as part of efforts to strengthen the governance and leadership structure of the university.

Mrs Samson, a prominent entrepreneur in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector, is expected to bring her wealth of experience in business leadership and philanthropy to her new role.

UNIOSUN authorities noted that the change in leadership reflects the routine process of renewing institutional governance in line with the university’s regulations.

The outgoing Chancellor, Mrs Alakija, was acknowledged for her contributions to the growth and development of the institution during her tenure.

Further details regarding the official inauguration of the new Chancellor are expected to be announced by the university authorities in due course.
