Police Reject Alleged ₦500m Bribe, Arrest Suspected Drug Kingpin in Lagos Raid

The Nigeria Police Force has confirmed the arrest of a suspected drug trafficker, Eke Henry Ifeanyi, during a major anti-drug operation in Lagos State.

According to police authorities, operatives recovered 425 bags of substances suspected to be illicit drugs with an estimated street value of about ₦7.8 billion.

The operation was reportedly carried out in the Mende area of Maryland, Lagos, following intelligence gathering and surveillance by security operatives.

Police alleged that the suspect attempted to offer officers a ₦500 million bribe in an effort to prevent the arrest and seizure, but the offer was rejected by the operatives involved in the operation.

Authorities also disclosed that additional items, including vehicles, mobile phones, and other materials, were recovered during the raid.

The Nigeria Police Force stated that the substances seized are still undergoing further examination and investigation.

Officials described the operation as a major breakthrough in the fight against drug trafficking and organised crime within the country.

The police assured the public that investigations are ongoing and that all suspects connected to the operation would be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
