The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially flagged off its governorship campaign in Ile-Ife ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election, marking the beginning of its statewide campaign for the poll.

The party chose Ile-Ife, the hometown of its deputy governorship candidate, Kayode Adereti, as the venue for the campaign launch. According to the APC, the rally signals the commencement of its efforts to mobilise support across the state for its governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO).

In a statement issued by the Head of the Media and Publicity Committee of the Osun APC Governorship Campaign Council, Engr. Oluremi Omowaiye, the party said the campaign would focus on its plans for sustainable development, economic growth, job creation and infrastructural renewal in Osun State.

The APC called on its members, supporters and residents of the state to participate peacefully in the campaign activities, expressing confidence that its message and manifesto would resonate with the electorate ahead of the election.

The launch comes as political activities intensify across Osun State, with major parties stepping up campaigns in preparation for the governorship election. Analysts expect the contest to be keenly fought as parties seek to convince voters with their respective programmes and policy proposals.
