Violence reportedly broke out during the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives primary election in Ondo State, leaving several persons injured.

The incident occurred during the party’s candidate selection process in some constituencies, where tension reportedly escalated among party members and supporters.

Eyewitnesses said the disruption led to chaos at the venue, forcing some participants to flee for safety while the exercise was temporarily interrupted.

Some of the injured persons were reportedly taken to nearby medical facilities for treatment, although the exact number of casualties has not been officially confirmed.

The violence has been linked to disagreements and disputes over the party’s candidate selection process ahead of the general elections.

Security operatives were said to have been deployed to restore calm and prevent further breakdown of law and order in the affected areas.

The APC is yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident as of the time of filing this report.

The development adds to concerns over recurring violence during political party primaries in parts of the country.
