President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of 26 individuals into the boards and leadership of 10 Federal Government agencies and commissions as part of efforts to strengthen public institutions and enhance service delivery.

Among the appointments is former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, who was named Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA). He will lead the agency’s board alongside newly appointed non-executive directors, while the agency’s Director-General and existing executive directors will continue in their roles.

The President also appointed Major General Junaid Bindawa (Rtd.) as Chairman of the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission, alongside several commissioners and board members assigned to key federal institutions. The appointments were announced in a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

According to the Presidency, the appointments are aimed at strengthening governance across strategic agencies, improving institutional efficiency and supporting the implementation of the administration’s development agenda. The newly appointed officials are expected to provide policy direction and oversight in their respective organisations.

The appointments take immediate effect and form part of the Tinubu administration’s ongoing efforts to fill leadership positions in federal agencies and commissions with experienced public servants, professionals and political appointees.
