“I Know Those Behind Oyo Kidnappings, I Will Name Them” — Sunday Igboho

By Peace Erewunmi

Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has claimed that he knows the politicians allegedly behind the recent wave of kidnappings in Oyo State.

Igboho made the statement while addressing newly elected executives of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) during a meeting at his residence in Ibadan.

According to him, certain political figures are allegedly supporting or backing criminal groups responsible for the abduction of schoolchildren and residents in parts of the state.

He warned that he would publicly reveal the identities of those involved if the situation continues, stressing that insecurity in the region has reached a concerning level.

“I know the politicians behind them, and if they do not stop perpetrating their evil acts, I will mention them all,” he was quoted as saying.

The activist also claimed that insecurity in the country is being influenced by individuals with political interests, though he did not provide specific evidence to support his allegations.

His comments have sparked reactions among Nigerians, with some calling for caution and others urging security agencies to intensify investigations into the rising cases of abductions.

As of the time of filing this report, no official response has been issued by security agencies regarding the allegations, and no names have been confirmed.
