Tinubu Directs Gbajabiamila, Masari to Oversee APC National Assembly Primaries Ahead of 2027

By Erewunmi Peace

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, and Special Adviser on Political Matters, Ibrahim Masari, to oversee the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Assembly primaries ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The directive is aimed at ensuring coordination, transparency, and fairness in the party’s internal selection process as preparations for the elections begin.

According to party sources, both officials are expected to work closely with APC governors, stakeholders, and the party’s leadership to monitor the conduct of the primaries and provide feedback to the President.

Despite the directive, the responsibility for organizing and conducting the primaries remains with the APC National Working Committee (NWC), which is constitutionally empowered to manage party activities.

Political observers note that the move signals the party’s early efforts to maintain unity and avoid internal disputes as the election cycle approaches.

The development is expected to shape the dynamics within the APC as aspirants and stakeholders begin positioning for the upcoming elections.

Further updates are anticipated as preparations for the primaries continue.
