A High Court in the Federal Capital Territory has ordered the arrest of former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Sadiya Umar Farouq, and a top government official over alleged fraud charges.

The court issued the arrest order after the defendants failed to appear for their scheduled arraignment.

The case involves allegations of financial misconduct, including the handling of public funds linked to humanitarian programmes. Prosecutors allege that the funds, reportedly amounting to both foreign and local currencies, were mismanaged in violation of due process.
