Former Deputy Campaign Manager of the Obi/Datti Presidential Campaign, Comrade Isaac Balami, on Friday led a delegation of former Obidient leaders, professionals and support group coordinators to a meeting with Seyi Tinubu in Abuja, where they declared their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking during the meeting, Balami said the decision followed extensive consultations and reflected the group’s desire to support the President’s administration. He stated that many of those present had previously worked for Peter Obi’s 2023 presidential campaign but had now resolved to align with Tinubu’s re-election bid. He also claimed the group would mobilise support nationwide for the President in 2027.

Balami explained that some members felt their contributions during the 2023 election were not adequately recognised, adding that they believed the APC offered a broader platform for their political aspirations. Several members of the delegation echoed similar sentiments during the gathering.

Responding, Seyi Tinubu welcomed the delegation and assured them that they would be treated fairly within the APC. He described the party as inclusive and encouraged the new supporters to remain committed to promoting good governance and national development.

The development is the latest in a series of political realignments as parties and support groups begin positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 general elections, with politicians across different camps seeking to strengthen their alliances.
