PDP Board of Trustees Holds Emergency Meeting in Abuja
By Erewunmi Peace
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees (BoT) held an emergency meeting in Abuja amid ongoing leadership tensions within the party.
The meeting, led by BoT chairman Adolphus Wabara, was attended by key party leaders, including Governors Seyi Makinde and Bala Mohammed, Acting National Chairman Umar Damagum, and other senior PDP stakeholders.
The emergency gathering followed a recent ruling by the Court of Appeal, which upheld an earlier judgment restraining the party’s 2025 national convention. Party leaders met to assess the implications of the judgment and deliberate on the future of the party’s leadership and convention plans.
Political analysts note that the meeting underscores the ongoing internal crisis within the PDP, as different factions seek to assert influence ahead of upcoming party activities and elections.
The BoT is expected to issue an official communiqué detailing the outcome of the meeting in the coming days.
