“We Have Spent 13 Days in the Bush, Don’t Let Them Waste Our Lives” — Abducted Oyo School Principal and Teacher Beg Tinubu, Makinde to Negotiate With Kidnappers

An abducted school principal and a teacher in Oyo State have made an emotional appeal to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Seyi Makinde, pleading for urgent negotiation with their abductors to secure their release.

The victims, who have spent about 13 days in captivity, said they are living under harsh conditions in the bush and warned that their lives are in danger if immediate action is not taken.

In a distress message, one of the abducted victims said they and others are exposed to severe hardship, including harsh weather conditions and uncertainty over their safety.

“We are in the cold, under the sun and inside the rain. We have spent 13 days in the bush. Don’t let them waste our lives,” the victim said.

They further appealed to government authorities to avoid military force, insisting that dialogue and negotiation remain the safest way to secure their release.

“This does not call for force. Please negotiate with them so that our lives can be saved,” the abducted teacher added.

The victims also expressed concern that any attempted rescue operation involving force could endanger their lives, urging both federal and state governments to intervene urgently through peaceful negotiation.
