2027: Lagos APC Declares Readiness for Tinubu’s Re-election Campaign

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared its readiness to mobilise voters across the state for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in the 2027 presidential election.
The party said its structures across Lagos had been strengthened and energised to take the message of the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda to wards, communities and polling units.
Lagos APC Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, said the commencement of the 2027 presidential campaign marked the beginning of intensified mobilisation efforts aimed at securing victory for Tinubu and the party.
Ojelabi said Lagos was prepared to provide the grassroots mobilisation and electoral strength required to support the President’s re-election bid.
The party chairman also urged members to remain united, disciplined and committed to the party’s objectives ahead of the election.
At a recent stakeholders’ meeting in Lagos, APC leaders discussed reconciliation, unity and strategies for improving the party’s performance in the state. The party also set a target of delivering at least three million votes to Tinubu in Lagos during the 2027 presidential election.
The target is significant given Lagos’ role in national politics and the close contest witnessed in the state during the 2023 presidential election. In that election, the Labour Party’s Peter Obi narrowly defeated Tinubu in Lagos, making the state an important focus for the APC ahead of 2027.
Ojelabi said the party’s performance in the 2023 presidential election was disappointing and urged members to work together to improve the result in 2027.
The APC’s mobilisation drive comes as political parties across Nigeria begin rolling out their campaign structures for the 2027 elections. President Tinubu is seeking a second term on the APC platform, while several opposition parties are also preparing to challenge the ruling party.
With Lagos regarded as a key political stronghold of the President, the state APC leadership is expected to intensify grassroots engagement, voter mobilisation and internal reconciliation as the 2027 election approaches.
