By Peace Erewunmi

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, is set to lead the zonal launch of the National Community Food Bank Programme in Ogun State as part of efforts to support vulnerable and indigent Nigerians.

The programme is scheduled to take place at Makun, Sagamu, where food items will be distributed to vulnerable residents as part of the Federal Government’s social intervention efforts.

The launch is expected to bring together governors, First Ladies and other stakeholders from across the country.

The National Community Food Bank Programme is aimed at strengthening food support systems and providing assistance to households facing economic hardship.

As part of her visit to Ogun State, Senator Tinubu is also expected to commission the 108-unit Muhammadu Buhari Estate at Kobape, Abeokuta.

She will further commission the Gateway Medical Centre of Excellence, a 250-bed ultra-modern hospital in Abeokuta designed to provide healthcare services to residents of Ogun State and neighbouring communities.

The First Lady is also scheduled to engage with key stakeholders at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta, during her visit.

The activities are expected to strengthen collaboration between the Federal and Ogun State Governments in the areas of social welfare, housing and healthcare delivery.

The zonal launch forms part of broader efforts by the Federal Government to expand social intervention programmes and provide direct support to vulnerable Nigerians.
