Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma has disclosed that the five governors of Nigeria’s South-East region have resolved to work together in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in the 2027 general election.

Uzodimma made the disclosure during a state banquet held in Owerri, Imo State, at the conclusion of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors National Media Tour and the inspection of federal and state government projects by the Presidential Communications Team.

According to the governor, the South-East governors, irrespective of political party affiliation, are united in pursuing policies and partnerships that will attract greater federal presence and accelerate development across the region. He expressed confidence that President Tinubu’s ongoing economic and infrastructure reforms would benefit the South-East and the country as a whole.

Uzodimma also commended the President for what he described as bold leadership in implementing difficult but necessary reforms. He maintained that although the policies have posed short-term challenges, they are designed to reposition Nigeria’s economy for sustainable growth and long-term prosperity.

The Imo governor further urged residents of the South-East to continue supporting the Federal Government’s development agenda, expressing optimism that stronger collaboration between the region and the Presidency would deliver more infrastructure, investment and economic opportunities.

His remarks come amid increasing political consultations and realignments ahead of the 2027 general election, with major political stakeholders across the country intensifying preparations for the next electoral cycle.
