A fire outbreak has reportedly engulfed parts of the Ogun State Free Trade Zone in Igbesa, Ogun State, causing panic among residents and workers in the area.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, with thick smoke seen rising from the industrial zone.

Eyewitnesses said the fire spread rapidly, affecting some facilities within the free trade zone and nearby residential buildings before emergency responders arrived.

Preliminary reports indicate that the fire may have started from an industrial facility, possibly following a gas-related incident, although the exact cause has not yet been officially confirmed by authorities.

Firefighters from the Ogun State Fire Service and surrounding areas were deployed to the scene and worked for several hours to contain the blaze.

Residents in nearby communities were advised to remain calm and keep a safe distance while firefighting efforts continued.
