Shettima to Chair Hadiza Bala Usman’s 50th Governance ColloquiumAbuja — Vice-President

Kashim Shettima will chair the maiden edition of the Hadiza Bala Usman Governance Colloquium, scheduled to hold in Abuja as part of activities marking the 50th birthday of Hadiza Bala Usman, Special Adviser to the President on Policy and Coordination.

The event, which will take place on Tuesday at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, is expected to bring together senior government officials, policy experts, and development practitioners to deliberate on leadership, public service delivery, and governance reforms.

A public policy expert, Dr. Joe Abah, will deliver the keynote address on the theme, “Leadership, Delivery, and the Courage to Serve.”

The colloquium will also feature a panel discussion with notable figures in governance and economic policy, including Taiwo Oyedele, Chairman of the Presidential Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms Committee; Dr. Muhammad Sani Abdullahi, Deputy Governor (Economic Policy) of the Central Bank of Nigeria; Waziri Adio, founder of Agora Policy; Rinsola Abiola, Director-General of the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre; and Dr. Habiba Lawal, a retired Permanent Secretary.

According to the organisers, the governance colloquium is designed to serve as a platform for critical reflection on institutional performance, leadership accountability, and the practical challenges of policy implementation in Nigeria.

Hadiza Bala Usman has held several key public offices, including her tenure as Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority and Chief of Staff to the former Governor of Kaduna State. She is also a co-founder of the global

#BringBackOurGirls movement.
