NDLEA Arrests Suspected Drug Kingpin Linked To 49.70kg Heroin Seizure

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested Festus Ibewuike, also known as Chidibest Ibewuike, a suspected drug kingpin allegedly linked to the seizure of 49.70 kilogrammes of heroin.
Ibewuike was reportedly arrested after being on the run in connection with the major heroin seizure at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
Reports said the suspect was identified as a key figure in the drug trafficking network connected to the seized consignment.
The arrest is expected to assist the NDLEA in its investigation into the origin, movement and intended destination of the illicit drug consignment.
The agency has continued to intensify operations against drug trafficking networks across Nigeria, targeting both couriers and individuals suspected of coordinating large-scale drug operations.
However, the allegation against Ibewuike remains subject to investigation and possible prosecution. His arrest does not by itself establish guilt, which must be determined through the appropriate legal process.
