Lagos Raises BRT Bus Fares by 13%

The Lagos State Government has officially approved a 13% increase in fares for all Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) services and standard bus routes across the state.
According to the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA), the fare adjustment is in response to rising operational costs and inflation, aimed at supporting bus operators while maintaining efficient public transportation.
The new fares are set to take effect from Monday, March 2, 2026, and will apply to all standard and BRT routes within Lagos.
Commuters are advised to prepare for the adjusted fares as the state continues to improve public transportation infrastructure while balancing economic realities.
