Gunmen suspected to be bandits have abducted four members of a family in Babanla community, Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of Wednesday when the armed men stormed a farm where the victims were working. According to local sources, five family members were initially seized during the attack.
However, reports indicate that one elderly victim was later released, leaving four persons still in captivity.

Community in Fear
Residents of Babanla community in Ifelodun LGA have expressed growing concern over rising insecurity in the area.

The latest attack has heightened fears among farmers, many of whom rely on daily farm activities for their livelihood.

A local source described the attack as sudden, saying the gunmen arrived heavily armed and operated for several minutes before fleeing with the victims.

Security Response

The Nigeria Police Force is yet to release a detailed official statement on the incident.

However, security presence is said to have increased in the area as efforts continue to secure the victims’ release and track down the perpetrators.
