365 Students Expelled at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Over Fake Result Scandal

By Peace Erewunmi

The management of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta, has expelled 365 students over allegations of submitting fake academic results and forged documents during admission.

According to the institution, the affected students were found to have gained admission into various Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes using falsified National Diploma (ND) results and fake academic transcripts.

The decision followed a comprehensive verification exercise conducted by the school to authenticate documents submitted during the admission and registration processes.

Authorities said the action was part of efforts to sanitize the academic environment and maintain the institution’s zero-tolerance policy on fraud, forgery, and other forms of academic misconduct.

The expulsion affected students across different schools within the polytechnic, including Communication and Information Technology, Business and Management Studies, Science and Technology, Engineering, and Environmental Studies.

School officials warned prospective applicants against using fake credentials, stressing that such actions would lead to strict disciplinary measures.

The institution reaffirmed its commitment to academic integrity, transparency, and excellence in higher education.

As of the time of filing this report, the affected students have been officially deregistered from the institution’s academic records.
