Ghanaian King Osei Tutu II Arrives in Nigeria Ahead of Free Nnamdi Kanu Protest

The King of the Ashanti Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has arrived in Nigeria to participate in the upcoming Free Nnamdi Kanu protest scheduled for Monday, October 20, 2025, in Abuja. The protest aims to demand the release of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
The Federal High Court in Abuja has approved the demonstration but placed restrictions on areas near sensitive government locations, including Aso Rock Villa, the National Assembly, and the Force Headquarters.
The presence of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II underscores the growing attention the issue is receiving, with leaders across Africa expressing solidarity with the movement. Social media platforms have widely circulated images and posts confirming his arrival in Nigeria.
