The Secretary-General of the Charismatic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria (CBCN), Archbishop Chivir Chianson, has said the group received a prophetic message that President Bola Tinubu will win the 2027 presidential election.

Chianson made the statement during an interview on Arise Television, where he expressed confidence that Tinubu would secure a second term.

According to the cleric, the bishops’ position was based on what he described as a prophetic revelation rather than a political calculation.

He said, “God told us President Tinubu will win. He’s not only going to win, he will perform better.”

Chianson explained that the bishops consider themselves both priests and prophets, pointing to biblical examples of prophets being involved in matters concerning national leadership.

He added that the CBCN would continue to speak truth to power while maintaining what he described as a respectful relationship with the President and the government.

The statement comes days after the CBCN publicly endorsed Tinubu for a second term in office. The conference said its decision followed its assessment of the administration and its policies.

Chianson said he was confident that the bishops’ prediction would be vindicated after the 2027 election, promising to return to the same television studio to assess the outcome.

The claim is a religious prediction and not an independently verifiable forecast of the 2027 election outcome.
