Court Orders Remand of Ex-AGF Malami, Son, and Wife in Kuje Prison

A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the remand of former Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), along with his son and wife, at Kuje Correctional Centre pending the hearing of their bail applications.
The trio was arraigned on multiple counts of money laundering and unlawful acquisition of assets by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). They have all pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The court has adjourned the hearing of their bail applications to early January 2026, meaning they are expected to remain in custody until then.
This development has drawn nationwide attention as investigations continue into the alleged concealment of funds and assets.
