President Bola Tinubu has assured the Acting Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, of his full support while charging him to restore peace and strengthen security across Nigeria.

The President gave the charge during the decoration ceremony of the new Acting IGP at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Speaking at the event, President Tinubu urged Disu to lead the Nigeria Police Force with professionalism, integrity, and a renewed commitment to public trust.

He emphasized the need for improved collaboration among security agencies to address the country’s security challenges.
“You have my full support. Restore peace and security across the nation,” the President stated.

Disu’s appointment followed the exit of the former Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun. His appointment is subject to confirmation by the appropriate authorities in line with constitutional provisions.

In his response, the Acting IGP pledged his commitment to enhancing operational efficiency within the police force and strengthening community policing efforts nationwide.

The development marks a significant moment in Nigeria’s ongoing efforts to tackle insecurity and rebuild public confidence in law enforcement institutions.
