FG Suspends Paramilitary Recruitment, Portal to Reopen July 21

By Erewunmi Peace

The Federal Government has announced a temporary suspension of the ongoing recruitment into Nigeria’s paramilitary agencies due to technical issues encountered on its application portal.

The suspension affects recruitment into the following agencies:

Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS)

Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)

Federal Fire Service (FFS)

Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS)

In an official statement released on July 17, the Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), Maj.-Gen. Abdulmalik Jibril (Rtd), stated that the online portal was experiencing technical difficulties due to a high volume of traffic from applicants.

“The temporary suspension is necessary to enhance system performance and ensure a transparent, fair, and smooth application process for all Nigerians,” the statement read.

The recruitment portal, https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng, is now scheduled to reopen on Monday, July 21, 2025. Applicants are encouraged to remain patient and revisit the portal on that date to continue or begin their registration process.

The Board assured Nigerians that the deadline for the recruitment exercise will still allow ample time for applications once the portal resumes operation. The closing date is expected to remain August 4, 2025, unless otherwise announced.

What You Should Know:

All previous applications submitted before the suspension remain valid.

No new documents or requirements have been announced.

Only the online process is accepted; physical submissions are not allowed.
