Ajayi Crowther University (ACU), Oyo, has announced that 76 students have graduated with First Class honours as the institution holds its 17th convocation ceremony.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Timothy Adebayo, disclosed this during the convocation briefing, noting that the university will graduate 2,336 undergraduate students and 1,297 postgraduate students across various disciplines.

According to him, the growing number of top-performing graduates reflects ACU’s commitment to academic excellence and high educational standards.

This year’s convocation lecture is being delivered by renowned historian and scholar, Professor Toyin Falola, who continues to play a significant role in advancing African scholarship globally. Falola’s lecture is a key highlight of the ceremony, attracting academics, dignitaries, students and members of the university community.

Professor Adebayo also revealed that the university is expanding its academic offerings, with new programmes in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Journalism, Broadcasting, and Monitoring & Evaluation already submitted for regulatory approval. He added that ACU is working towards establishing a College of Health Sciences to further broaden its academic reach.

The 17th convocation ceremony is scheduled to hold from November 26 to 27, 2025, featuring awards, recognitions and celebrations of academic achievements.
