Cannabis Hidden in Dangote Cement Trailer Intercepted in Kano

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted 64 bags of suspected cannabis sativa concealed in a cement-laden trailer on the Zaria–Kano Road.
According to the NDLEA’s Kano Command, the trailer, loaded with Dangote Cement from Obajana, Kogi State, was heading to Mubi, Adamawa State when officers discovered the drugs. The driver has been arrested and is currently under investigation as the agency continues its efforts to curb drug trafficking in the region.
The NDLEA described the seizure as part of its ongoing operations targeting the illegal movement of narcotics across Nigeria.
Authorities are appealing to transport companies and drivers to be vigilant and ensure compliance with legal regulations.
This incident has sparked discussions on the security of commercial goods and the challenges law enforcement faces in preventing illegal substances from being smuggled in legitimate shipments.
