Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have begun consultations aimed at resolving the internal crisis affecting the party as preparations for the 2027 general elections gradually begin.

According to reports, key stakeholders within the party have called for an expanded meeting of the Board of Trustees (BoT) to address ongoing disagreements among party members and restore unity within the organization.

The meeting is expected to bring together party elders, governors, and other influential figures to discuss the challenges facing the PDP. These include leadership disputes, internal divisions, and concerns about defections of members to other political parties.

The Board of Trustees, often regarded as the conscience of the party, is expected to play a major role in mediating between opposing factions and recommending solutions that could stabilize the party.

Political observers believe the move is part of a broader effort to strengthen the PDP and reposition it as a strong opposition ahead of the next election cycle.
