President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced plans to deploy AI-enabled digital surveillance cameras across Plateau State as part of efforts to address rising insecurity.

The President made the pledge following recent violent attacks in the state, noting that the initiative will strengthen security monitoring, intelligence gathering, and rapid response by law enforcement agencies.

According to reports, the Federal Government plans to install over 5,000 digital cameras, starting with Jos, the state capital, before expanding to other parts of Plateau. The project will be supervised by relevant government agencies to ensure effective implementation.

Tinubu emphasized that the deployment of advanced technology is a critical step toward improving national security, tracking criminal activities, and preventing further attacks. He also assured residents that the government remains committed to protecting lives and restoring peace in the region.

The initiative is part of broader measures aimed at combating violence, strengthening security infrastructure, and supporting affected communities.
