NYSC Member Beaten to Death in Benue After Being Mistaken for Motorcycle Thief

A serving National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member has reportedly been beaten to death in Benue State after being mistaken for a motorcycle thief by a vigilante group.
The incident occurred in Buruku Local Government Area of the state during a night patrol operation carried out by local security volunteers.
According to reports, the corps member was accosted by the vigilantes and wrongly accused of stealing a motorcycle. He was allegedly beaten before he could properly identify himself.
He was later rushed to a hospital, where he was confirmed dead as a result of injuries sustained during the attack.
The tragic incident has sparked outrage and renewed concerns over the activities of vigilante groups and the need for proper identification procedures during security operations.
