An indigene of Ekiti State, Owoeye Daniella Jesudunsin, has emerged as the highest scorer in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) after recording an outstanding score of 372.

The result was officially announced during the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) policy meeting held in Abuja, where the board unveiled the top-performing candidates for the 2026 examination cycle.

According to reports, the candidate sat for the examination in Ogun State and applied to study Medicine and Surgery at the University of Lagos.

Education stakeholders have described the achievement as a remarkable academic feat, with many commending the student’s dedication and performance in the highly competitive examination.

JAMB officials noted that the release of top candidate scores forms part of efforts to promote academic excellence and transparency in the examination process.

The UTME remains one of the key requirements for admission into tertiary institutions across Nigeria, with millions of candidates participating annually.

Further admission processes, including institutional screening and departmental cut-off announcements, are expected to follow in the coming weeks.
