Veteran broadcaster and media executive, Sulaiman Aledeh, has resigned from his position as Managing Director of the Edo Broadcasting Service (EBS).

Aledeh announced his resignation in a letter dated May 30, 2026, addressed to the Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo. He stated that his decision takes immediate effect.

According to him, the resignation was necessary to enable him focus on the next phase of his professional career as a media practitioner and pursue other interests as a private citizen.

The outgoing EBS boss expressed appreciation to Governor Okpebholo for the opportunity to serve, describing his tenure at the state-owned broadcasting organisation as a privilege and honour.

Aledeh also thanked the people of Edo State, both at home and in the diaspora, for their support throughout his time in office, noting that public broadcasting remains a vital bridge between government and the people.

He commended the management and staff of the Edo Broadcasting Service for their professionalism, dedication, and commitment to excellence, stating that their collective efforts contributed significantly to the institution’s growth and transformation.

The former Managing Director said he remains confident that EBS will continue to build on its achievements and effectively fulfil its mandate of serving the people of Edo State.

As of the time of filing this report, the Edo State Government had not announced a replacement for the outgoing EBS Managing Director.
