Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has dismissed reports claiming that he plans to leave the All Progressives Congress (APC) over the party’s Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket ahead of the 2027 general election.

In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Dr. Dominic Alancha, Dogara described the reports as false, baseless and politically motivated, insisting that he remains a committed and loyal member of the ruling party.

According to the statement, Dogara has neither resigned from the APC nor expressed any intention to do so. It added that the rumours were the handiwork of individuals seeking to create division within the party and mislead the public.

The former Speaker reaffirmed his commitment to the unity, growth and success of the APC, stressing that his focus remains on promoting good governance, national unity and supporting the party’s preparations for the 2027 general election.

Dogara’s office also urged the public and media organisations to disregard the reports and rely only on verified information from official sources, warning against the spread of misinformation capable of generating unnecessary political tension.
