Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have arrested Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, the self-proclaimed Director-General of the alleged Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), in Osun State following a court-issued warrant for his arrest.

Adeyemi was apprehended by operatives of the Force Intelligence Department–Intelligence Response Team (FID-IRT) during an intelligence-led operation at his hideout in Osun. According to the Osun State Police Command, the operation was carried out by officers from the Force Headquarters in Abuja, while the state command only confirmed the arrest.

His arrest came shortly after Justice Mohammed Umar of the Federal High Court in Abuja issued a bench warrant following his failure to appear for arraignment on an eight-count charge bordering on alleged conspiracy, forgery, fraud and impersonation. The court subsequently adjourned the case until September 30.

The PFIPC has been described by government officials as a non-existent agency with no legal backing. The Presidency had earlier distanced itself from the organisation, while the Office of the Chief of Staff to the President denied any connection with its activities.

Police authorities said Adeyemi remains in custody and will face further interrogation as investigators examine the alleged activities of the organisation, including claims of impersonation, document forgery, and obtaining money under false pretences. Security agencies are also working to determine whether other individuals were involved in the alleged scheme.
